If you didn’t get the memo already from google, advertisers will have to “Complete identity checks” by May 13th, 2024 to continue running ads on Local Services Ads.
In the local service ad profile settings, there is a lawyer email that will be used to verify the account from Google’s partner company, Evident. Once the email has been sent, they will match that attorney name with their professional license in the attorney profile.
Why is Google doing this?
Identity verification protocols are being implemented in 2024 across law verticals to enhance safeguards against potential impersonation of you, your colleagues, or unauthorized claims on behalf of your business. This measure aims to ensure consumer protection by preventing interactions with fraudulent impersonators.
Important to Remember:
You have 30 days to verify once the email has been sent before Google takes down your ad.
What you need to do:
Please verify email addresses: Ensure that the email addresses of the professionals listed on your profile are current in the Local Services business verification or profile & budget page. You can update the email address by toggling the “Featured” button. On March 11th, 2024, our identity verification partner, Evident, will send emails to these addresses to start the identity checks process.
